Information you provide
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you register with a password, we store a secure hash of it, rather than the password itself. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile details such as your name and email from Google. When you contact us, we keep the name, email, topic, and message you send.
Information from your use
To provide personal features, we store content and activity tied to your account, such as your notes, notebooks, bookmarks, favorites, watch history, playback progress, and preferences like interface language and audio settings.
Technical information
As with most websites, we record limited technical information needed to operate and secure the service, including sign-in activity such as timestamps and IP addresses. We use a bot-protection service on forms to help prevent automated abuse.
How we use information
We use this information only to operate the features you use, save your progress and preferences, keep your account secure, respond to your messages, and maintain and improve the service. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Cookies and sessions
We use cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. Faqieh does not add advertising or third-party analytics trackers. Embedded YouTube players and the optional Yamli typing tool connect to external services when used; those services have their own privacy practices.
Service providers
We use external services to operate Faqieh, including Google sign-in, YouTube playback, optional Yamli typing, search infrastructure, bot protection, and email delivery. These services receive information needed to provide their features and operate under their own terms and privacy practices.
Data retention
We keep your account information and saved study activity while your account is active. Deleting your account removes your profile and saved study activity from the active database. Support messages are retained separately to handle correspondence. Backup copies may remain until they expire under the backup retention settings. Contact us about requests concerning retained correspondence or backup retention.
Your choices
You can update your profile and preferences, and delete your account and saved study activity from Settings. To request removal of retained support correspondence or ask a privacy question, contact [email protected].
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including secure password hashing and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We publish the current version here, with its last-updated date.
